Qom : UNICEF Representative in Iran Paul Hulshoff said here Wednesday that children in the Gaza Strip were victims of the recent Israel’s brutal acts.
Israel’s aggression killed 400 children and wounded 800 others in the Gaza Strip, he said in his address to an international conference on human rights, peace and religion at Mofid University in the holy city of Qom.
He expressed regret that children and women in Gaza are still suffering from the outcome of the Israeli crimes.
Pointing to the recent hazardous developments in Pakistan, he regretted that children and women are mostly affected by such events.
Hulshoff added that wars in Afghanistan and Iraq also killed thousands of innocent children and women.
He stressed that religious leaders play an important role in promoting peace and preventing violence against children and civilians across the world.
Hulshoff cited rape, lack of health and education as among main problems of children in different world countries.
