Jammu : At least three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Mahre forests in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir early Wednesday morning, police said.
Acting on a tip off, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army launched a joint operation in Mahre forests, where a group of Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen terrorists were hiding. Three terrorists were killed in the gun-battle.
Mahre is about 150 km north of Jammu and is one of the places where militants are active.
“Search operations have been launched,” a police official told IANS. He said that the police suspected there might be more terrorists hiding in the jungles, so the security personnel were moving with “extra caution”.
