Indore : At least three students of Holkar Science College here have been booked for allegedly ragging first year students, police said Tuesday.
The victims claimed that they were subjected to ragging by the seniors on Sep 2.
The issue came to light five days after the incident when some leaders of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took about 20-25 students of B.Sc first year to the office of the principal to lodge a formal complaint against the senior students.
Demanding stern action against the accused, ABVP leader Gaurav Randive threatened to launch an agitation against the college if action was not taken against the accused in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, college principal Anupam Jain confirmed having received the complaint and said the matter had been forwarded to the police. An emergency meeting of the college anti-ragging committee has been summoned.
The seniors have been identified as Ravi Choudhary, Alok Parethia and Ajay Shinde. All the accused are yet to be arrested, he added.
