Bihar government urged to take action against anti-Urdu officials

Patna: In a time when the government of Bihar has announced to fight against corrupt officials in the state, the Rajbhasha Committee of Bihar Legislative Council has urged the government to take strict action against the officials who have negative mindedness regarding the development of Urdu language in spite of Urdu being second official language of the state since 1981.

The committee complained that Urdu remained out of offices due to narrow-minded official who always tried to put barrier in its implementation on ground level because they considered Urdu as the language of Muslim community.

It also recommended the government to appoint Urdu translators, assistant translators and typewriters at the district, sub-division and block levels.

These were some of the features of its 13-point recommendations which the committee has submitted to the government.
