New Delhi: The Left Saturday asked Narendra Modi to quit saying he had lost the moral right to be the Gujarat chief minister after being summoned by a Supreme Court-appointed panel over the 2002 riots.
Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader M.K. Pandhe told IANS: “There is no justification for him to continue as the chief minister. He should resign on moral grounds. There is no doubt he is guilty.”
Communist Party of India (CPI) deputy general secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy said: “Modi should have resigned immediately after the riots.
“The chief minister not only failed to protect the minorities but also failed to deliver proper justice to the victims,” Reddy told IANS.
Modi Saturday appeared before the Special Investigation Team in Gandhinagar.
