Islamabad : Pakistan described the Israeli attack on Freedom Flotilla as against the international laws and expressed deep concerns over the situation.
At a press conference here on Monday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said we have too much concerns about the life and safety of three Pakistanis including Talat Hussain.
He has strongly condemned the Israeli attack on the Flotilla peace ships in the international waters.
The Foreign Minister said that a strategy on the issue will be evolved after the consultation with the President and the Prime Minister.
Qureshi said we could not establish contacts with the missing persons however, the government has activated its missions in Ankara, Cairo and Oman to gather information and to make efforts to contact with the missing Pakistanis.
He said that Pakistan is mobilizing all of its resources including diplomatic channels to know about the welfare of the missing Pakistanis and their early return to the country.
He said the government has asked the US Ambassador to help Pakistan on its concerns over the welfare of its missing citizens and should contact Tal-Aviv to know the whereabouts of them.
Replying to a question he said that there were about six hundred and thirty peace activists from over forty countries on board of Flotilla peace ships carrying medicines and food for the besieged Palestinians by Israeli forces in Gaza Strip.
He was of the opinion that it is such a serious matter that the OIC should convene its session and adopt a unanimous decision on the matter.
Responding to a question he said Pakistan authorities are constantly in contact with country’s mission in Ankara to have first hand information about the mishap and he will also have contact soon with his Turkish counterpart.
He stressed that keeping in view of the seriousness of the matter it should be taken up at the United Nations.
To another question the foreign minister said that Pakistan has a clear stance over the Palestine issue, however, he said we are focusing full attention on the present incident which has aggravated the situation.
