Chennai: The Tamil Nadu state conference of the Indian Union Muslim League will be held on December 11, 2010 at the Tambaram Railway Maidan in Chennai. Party’s TN state president Prof KM Qader Mohideen, ex-MP, will preside over the conference which will be attended by the party’s national leaders, leaders from other states and MPs and MLAs of Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will be presented the ‘Samad Sahib Communal Harmony Award’, instituted in honour of late leader AKA Abdu Samad Sahib.
National president and union minister E Ahmed, TN Deputy CM MK Stalin, party’s Kerala president Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, general secretary PK Kunhalikkutty, party’s MPs and MLAs from all over Tamil Nadu, etc will attend the conference. The organizers claim that more than one lakh party members will participate in the Mass Rally starting from Chromepet and ending at the Tamabaram Railway Maidan. Leaders of Mahall Jamats from all over the state will gather in the morning session and awards will be presented to three model Mahall Jamats for their efforts in maintaining unity, communal harmony and the solution of problems through the Shari’a Panchayats. The organizers expect around 10,000 Mahall Jamat leaders.
