Kolkata : A commando of the Kolkata Police’s Special Action Force (SAF) drowned Saturday while taking a bath in a pond within the police training school, police said.
Pradeep Gurung, 35, was found floating in the pond at Alipore Police Training School by his colleagues and taken to SSKM medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, Joint Commissioner (Headquarters) Jawed Shamim said.
A senior police officer said the attending doctor at SSKM hospital, after preliminary observation, said that Gurung was an epileptic patient.
