Uphold good image of country, Malaysian PM Najib reminds Haj pilgrims

Pekan, Malaysia : Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak today reminded Malaysian Haj pilgrims to uphold the good image of the country in when performing their pilgrimage to Mecca.

He said should there be any “defects” in this, it would impact pilgrims management in future.

“I believe those performing the Haj from Malaysia this year and in future will continue to maintain the good track record of their predecessors so that the country’s image will not be affected.

“This will help ease of management of pilgrims with the Saudi authorities like in determining the quota for Malaysian prilgrims each pilgrimage season,” he said during an aid presentation ceremony to 211 people from the Pekan parliamentary constituency who will be performing the pilgrimage this year, here today.

Najib is also the Member of Parliament for Pekan.

Also present was the Pilgrims Fund (Tabung Haji) chief executive Ismeth Ismail.
