US host higher education roundtable on India


Washington : Emphasising greater cooperation in education sector as a fundamental part of all aspects of their enhanced strategic relationship, the US State Department hosted a round table with some of key American universities to explore the possibilities of Indo-US cooperation in the field of higher education.

“The aim was to identify successful and sustainable models for collaboration and partnerships in all types of higher educational institutions including research institutions, professional schools, undergraduate liberal arts schools and community colleges,” the State Department said in a statement.

In all, 19 US Universities were represented at the Roundtable, hosted by the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Robert Blake and Dr Molly Maguire Teas, the Senior Advisor for Education in South and Central Asia Bureau of the State Department.
