New Delhi : Two people were burnt to death after a fire broke out on the second floor of a building here due to electric short-circuit, officials said Wednesday.
The accident took place in Chandani Mahal area of central Delhi around 11.30 p.m. Tuesday. Three fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was doused in 10 minutes.
However, two people — Wasim, 19, and Naeem, 35, — suffered burn injuries. “They were rushed to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital where doctors declared them dead,” said a police officer.
“There were handicrafts items in the flat that intensified the fire,” said a fire brigade official.
