“I and two others have joined Mahendra Kumar Gandhi in the indefinite fast,” Anand Yadwad, Bangalore coordinator of the people’s movement, told IANS.

Gandhi began the indefinite fast Tuesday joining social activist Anna Hazare who is on fast-unto-death in New Delhi to press for greater involvement of civil society in drafting the anti-graft Lokpal legislation.

“The condition of Gandhi is fine. He is not taking even water though the three of us take water,” Yadwad said.

He said 60 people joined the protest in Bangalore Wednesday. “They will fast for a day, like the 50 people who did Tuesday,” he said.

“All 60 came on their own Wednesday, after learning about the protest from the media,” Yadwad said.

He said day-long fast was observed by scores of people in many places in Karnataka Tuesday, coinciding with Hazare launching his protest fast in New Delhi.
