By IANS,

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh backed Anna Hazare on his anti-corruption campaign, while dozens organised a sit-in here Friday to extend support to the veteran social reformer who is on a fast-unto-death in New Delhi.

Raman Singh said: “Hazare’s demand must be accepted by the central government and a tougher Lokpal Bill be implemented the way Hazare wants.”

Dozens of people from various social organisations led by Nagrik Sangarsh Samiti, staged a sit-in at Azad Chowk in front of Gandhi statue to back Hazare in his anti-corruption crusade.

Women organisations and college students too joined in and said people need to stand by Anna Hazare’s movement to save the country from corrupt politicians.

Anna Hazare is on fast since Tuesday at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding greater say for the civil society on the anti-graft Lopal Bill.
