Patna: “We all need to practice the teachings of the holy Quran because it is torchlight for all. It promotes humanity and teaches peace, harmony and brotherhood” said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while releasing ‘Multilingual Dictionary of the Holy Quran’ here in Patna on 20th April.
The CM highly praised author of the dictionary Zamir Ahmed who is an Urdu Journalist by profession. Fifty-six year old Mr. Ahmad belongs to Chakia in West Champaran district of Bihar. He spent 17 years to complete the book which is unique on the topic.

The 723-page book has 1.40 lakh words of Quran in alphabetical order. The unique thing in the dictionary is that each word has details of its origin, pronunciation, and its meaning in Hindi, Urdu, English and Persian. In addition to that it is also mentioned that how many times a word has been used in the Quran.
On the occasion Mr. Zamir Ahmad detailed to the audience that how he compiled the book and from whom he got appreciation while working on the project.
The program was organized at Conference Hall of CM House and presided over by Dr. A. Abdul Hai. Others who attended the program include JD-U MP Ali Anwar Ansari, JD-U MLA Dr. Izhar Ahmad, Mufti Mahfuzur Rahman Usmani, Dr. Syed Shehbaz, Dr. Fazl-e-Rab and H Abdur Raqeeb.
