Rabat : Morocco has launched an institution at a whopping cost of $12 million that will provide vulnerable people adequate accommodation, training and education.
King Mohammed VI inaugurated the Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institution for Social Protection in Ain Attiq that will benefit 1,300 people.
The facility has two centres – one for abandoned children, children in precarious situation and out-of-school children, and the second dedicated for adults, women in difficult situations, elderly, mentally ill and the disabled.
The institution also has a unit for drug-addict children.
It includes a centre for informal education, training in computer science, music and plastic arts, as well as a vocational training centre, which will provide training in electric works, aluminium carpentry, plumbing and sewing.
