Hyderabad: On the 19th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition on Tuesday, Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has demanded impeachment by Parliament of the two judges of Allahabad High Court “for delivering 30th Sept. 2010 Babri Masjid Judgment based on their religious beliefs (Aastha) which goes against the defined Secular Constitution of this country.”
A high-level delegation of MBT here today met Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and submitted a memorandum to be sent to President of India.
“We request your kind authority with extra constitutional powers and Head of the State to direct the present UPA Government to take up the impeachment motion in Parliament against Justice D.V. Sharma and Justice Gupta of Allahabad High Court for delivering 30th Sept. 2010 Babri Masjid Judgment based on their religious beliefs (AASTHA) which goes against the defined Secular Constitution of this country,” the MBT said in the memorandum.
“Demolition of Babri Masjid on 6th Dec. 1992 was the Black Day in Indian History, but 30th September 2010 Allahabad High Court Judgment is the blackest day in the annals of Indian history where the verdict perverts law and paves the ground for fresh hostilities against the minorities, and in the name of enforcing law yet another attempt is being made to bury justice at the altar of peace,” it further said.
MBT also demanded nullification of the verdict and punishment to the demolishers.
MBT’s other demands are:
–To nullify unconstitutional judgment delivered by Allahabad High Court judges based on “faith” and “belief” and corrective measures to undo the wrong and protect, uphold the secular constitution.
–To take all necessary legal steps and establish a special Supreme Court bench to rehear the whole Babri Masjid title case afresh, and settle the issue as per the secular constitution in letter and spirit.
–To take all necessary legal steps to punish demolishers of Babri Masjid, identified and indicted by Justice Liberhan Commission.
The delegation consisted MBT leaders Adam Mallik (Adv), President MBT, Dr Khayam Khan, Convenor MBT, Amjed Ullah Khan (Corporator, Azampura Div), Syed Taher, Altaf Naseeb Khan.
