Raipur : The Chhattisgarh government has prepared a draft proposal for inter-linking of rivers in the state and the work is likely to begin from April, an official said Friday.
“The draft proposal for the inter-linking of rivers project has been prepared and it will be placed soon before the cabinet for its final approval,” an official of the state’s water resources department told IANS.
He added that the government is keen to begin work on the project in April itself.
He said the aim is to bring the paddy-growing belt of the state under irrigation cover and to sort out water crisis in certain districts.
