Karunagapally (Kerala) : Police Tuesday registered a case against Kerala’s Communist Party of India (CPI) minister C. Divakaran for allegedly roughing up a voter.
The incident allegedly took place at the railway station here where Divakaran was urging people to vote for him in the April 13 elections to the Kerala assembly.
A 41-year-old man, identified as Sudhakaran, complained first to the station master and then to police that the minister roughed him up, police said.
Divakaran is the food and civil supplies minister and is seeking re-election from Karunagapally.
The minister apparently became furious when Sudhakaran expressed his inability to vote for him as he was a Congress supporter.
