Chennai : Wild card Saket Myneni upstaged second seeded Ranjit Virali Murugesan 7-6 (3), 6-3 en route to the quarter-finals of the TNTA-ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament here Wednesday.
The tall Myneni, ranked No.1 in Alabama University, US, and a semi-finalist at a recent tournament in Mumbai, survived a close first set that he clinched on the tie-break due to his superior serve and then wrapped up the match with two breaks in the second.
