Dollar Industries eyes Rs.5 bn turnover in 2012-13

By IANS,

Kolkata : Hosiery major Dollar Industries targetted an over Rs.5 billion turnover by the end of fiscal 2012-13, a top company executive said Thursday.

“In the last financial year, we had a turnover of around Rs.450 crore (Rs.4.5 billion). We are expecting a turnover of more than Rs.500 crore (Rs.5 billion) this fiscal,” Dollar Industries managing director Vinod Gupta told reporters here.

Gupta claimed that out of Rs.4.5 billion turnover in 2011-12, about 24 percent was generated by the ‘Bigboss’ brand of innerwear of the company.

“It is hugely due to Akshay Kumar, the brand ambassador. After he became the brand ambassador, sales have grown by leaps and bounds,” he stated.

The company has decided to renew the association for three summer seasons starting 2012.
