New Delhi: The Muslim Students Organization of India (MSO) while condemning the Mumbai violence has demanded an impartial probe. MSO, an apex body of Sufi Sunni youths, has also demanded adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and the injured persons. Two persons are said to have been killed in the police firing at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Saturday where thousands of Muslims were protesting against killings in Assam and Myanmar.
Advocate Shahnawaz Warsi, General Secretary, MSO, said there could be some external elements behind the violence at the peaceful protest.
“How the Peaceful demonstration turned violent is the point of investigation. MSO doubts that “external elements” with an interest to disturb the Peace of the city might have hand in the incident. MSO demands adequate compensation to the victims killed in the Violence and for injured persons,” said Adv. Warsi.
MSO has appealed to the Muslim community to respect and follow law and order. “They should be Cautious as elements with vested interest might exploit the situation. We at the same time request the Govt. of Maharashtra to not arrest any innocent person in this incident while actual elements must be punished,” he demanded.
MSO has demanded the central government to listen to the voice of lakhs of Muslims who are living in relief camps without basic facilities of food, shelter and water.
“The killers of Assam violence must be punished and refugees should be rehabilitated to their actual place of residence in Kokrajhar and nearby areas,” he demanded.
