Hyderabad: When the results of AP bar council elections were announced on Friday evening, Mr. Zakir Hussain Javed turns out to be the sole Muslim to be elected to the A.P bar council out of 25 members getting elected to the council. He is one of the 10 members who got elected from the Hyderabad region. On 30th December voting was done for the election of the members of the bar council of the state of A.P.
Mr. Z.H. Javed got 1274 votes and got elected to the council; he got the 18th position in the 25 member council. Mr. Javed got the highest number of votes in the A.P high court and some other courts in the Hyderabad and Secunderabad region. He has been an advocate for the past 20 years, practicing in the A.P high court.
Others who got elected to the bar council are, the uncle of the chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, N. Dwarkanath Reddy who was the first person to be announced elected with the highest number of votes of 1479. BJP state general secretary Ramchandran Rao is also got elected, he got the 4th position.
After getting elected Mr. Z.H. Javed thanks all the advocates especially Muslim advocates who had given their vote in favor of him. Javed said that the membership of Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh is a great honor for advocates and selection of any Muslim advocate is a matter of pride.
Javed also claimed that his success is the success of all Muslims especially Muslim advocates. He said he will try his best to rise on the expectations of those who have elected him, and will work hard to represent the Muslims in the bar council.
