New Delhi: Popular Front of India has distributed as many as 3,000 school kits to the needy school children in Delhi as part of its nation-wide ‘School Chalo’ campaign in July. Economically disadvantaged students from places like Usmanpur, Shaheen Bagh, Mulla Colony, Khajuri, Old Mustafabad, Mandowli and Janata Colony have benefitted from the campaign. The students were encouraged to pursue their educational dreams.

At a programme conducted at Usmanpur, Popular Front distributed 300 school kits to the needy students. Usmanpur Masjid-e-Munawara Imam Moulana Munazar and journalist Gita were special guests at the programme.

Around 500 kits were distributed at a similar programme organised at Mulla Colony on July 09. PFI Delhi Secretary Moulana Thalha Sanabili presided over the function and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Delhi president Adv. Aslam Khan was chief guest.

Another programme held at Shaheen Bagh in Jamia Nagar on July 15, 200 kits were distributed. Another 500 kits were distributed to the students at Khajuri on July 16. And 200 and 100 kits were distributed at Janatha Colony and Mandowli respectively. The programmes conducted on July 17 and July 20 respectively.

The places and students were chosen after a survey was conducted to sort out the most deprived areas. The programmes have witnessed huge turnout of the local people at all the areas.

Popular Front, since the beginning of this academic year, has distributed one lakh school kits across the country.

“The organisation considers the educational empowerment of the most deprived sections in the society particularly Muslims as a major means to achieve social justice,” said PFI Delhi Secretary Moulana Thalha Sanabili.

After its vigorous ‘School Chalo’ campaign, PFI has invited applications for educational scholarship from the economically disadvantaged students who are pursuing higher education.
