Record numbers visit Udyanotsav at Rashtrapati Bhawan

New Delhi : More than 6 lakh visitors flocked to the “Udyanotsav” at Rashtrapati Bhavan this year, creating a new record.

The gardens, situated inside Rashtrapati Bhavan grounds, were opened for the public from Feb 10 to March 15.

This year, 6,57,119 persons visited the Mughal Gardens with Feb 19 recording 82,806 visitors, the highest number of visitors in one day.

However, the top prize for the Best Garden maintained by a Central Government Institution went to the Rashtrapati Nilayam for the fourth consecutive year

The Nilayam is the official retreat of the President of India. It is located in Secunderabad, the twin city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.

This year, the competition was organised by the department of horticulture, Andhra Pradesh government and state horticulture minister, Reddy Veneto Reddy awarded the trophy.

The gardens of Rashtrapati Nilayam were opened to the general public for the first time in 2011.
