Chandigarh : A senior officer of Haryana’s secondary school education department has been suspended Friday after an erroneous content, which depicted Jammu and Kashmir state not being apart of India in a map, was accepted and allowed to be part of an educational course.
State Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said that Parveen Sangwan, an assistant director, information technology in the Haryana Secondary School Education department, has been placed under suspension “for accepting the erroneous and objectionable content in the software namely EDU-BOSS where part of Jammu and Kashmir has been shown as not in India in the geographical map of India”.
The state government has also served a show-cause notice onthe management of C-DAC, which has developed the software, “for this act of negligence”, she added.
She said that company has been asked to rectify the erroneous content.
Bhukkal said that a committee has been constituted to screen the software or e-content course material in future.
