Washington DC: The Association of Indian Muslims of America (AIM) has condemned the attempts of ‘disfiguring’ the four hundred years old Charminar by building full fledged temple near one of its walls.
AIM is an NGO of Indian Muslims who live in North America. Highlighting the fact that this incident has created Hindu-Muslim tension in the city of Hyderabad along religious lines, and there is a possibility of sectarian violence and rioting.
The statement by AIM sayss, “The Muslim community of Hyderabad is rightfully agitated.”
It further adds, “The Association of Indian Muslims of America fully supports the Muslim community of Hyderabad and MIM, and condemns the Andhra Pradesh government for violating the High Court order and for illegally assisting the unauthorized construction activities at the said temple.”
