Chandigarh : Teaching students from “guides” is likely to prove costly for government school teachers in Punjab after the state government Friday imposed a complete ban on the use of guide books by teachers in government schools.
The state government directed all district education officers to take strict action against teachers who prefer to teach from guides instead of using textbooks and blackboards in classrooms, a spokesman of the department said here Friday.
“Instructions have been issued to concerned authorities to act against teachers using guides during school hours. It has been observed that students were forced to buy guides in some parts of the state as their teachers also uses guides in classrooms instead of using blackboards. This is particularly in case of mathematics,” he said.
