Hyderabad: Welfare Party of India Andhra Pradesh unit in its press statement said that death sentence of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was not according to the ethics of law, justice and humanity, and it visibly appears to be a political game.
WPI A.P. unit president Malik Mohtasim Khan in the statement said “If one inspects Parliament attack case, it clearly shows that in 2001 BJP Govt. to hide its shortcomings and to divert the attentions from political scandals facilitated this attack on parliament otherwise it is impossible to attack such a high security point like Indian Parliament.”
WPI also added that BJP always wanted to score a political point by exploiting the sentiments in the name of Parliament attack. And even now after Afzal Guru is hanged BJP is attacking congress for the delay in execution so that congress doesn’t get the whole credit.
Criticizing Congress led UPA govt. WPI A.P. unit said Congress eyeing on early elections and budget session of the parliament has executed Afzal guru in secrecy and showed worst kind of political gamble.
Mr. Khan in his statement reminded that trail court convicted Afzal Guru without any concrete evidence and the Supreme Court in the name of satisfying collective conscience of the society upholds that sentence. In this background death sentence of Afzal Guru is against the standards of law and justice.
WPI also criticized Government for not handing Afzal’s body to his family and termed it against basic values of humanity.
Mr. Malik Mohtasim khan in WPI press statement said that this trend of selective justice is a dangerous drift. And there is a need to go with same seriousness and same rigorousness against Sanghi terrorists who are involved in recent terror strikes which is mentioned by the home minster, so that true belief of justice can be achieved.
