AMU receives endowment of Rs. 10 lakh

    Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (AMUAA-GC), USA has donated a sum of Rs.10,00206.75 in the Alumni Fund established by the Aligarh Muslim University recently. The fund will be utilized for developing a Smart Classroom in the Women’s College.

    It may be noted that, early June this year, the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah had issued an appeal to the alumni of this University spread all over the globe to raise an endowment of Rs. 100 Crore to conduct various developmental works in the University that cannot be undertaken merely from the funds provided by the government.

    Raising to the call by the Vice Chancellor, the AMUAA-GC made the contribution of Rs.10,00206.75 for construction of a Smart Class Room in Women’s College of the University. A suitable plaque will be placed outside the classroom to remind visitors of the generous contribution of the alumni and their concern for the upcoming generations.

    Mr. Tausif Alam, a Member of AMUAA-GC, Madison, USA said that the Association emphasizes on education of girls and their endowment for construction of a Smart Classroom in Women’s College will help young students to carry their studies and researches in a manner compatible to modern times.
