Shimla : Public sector hydropower major Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) will commission two more electricity generation projects in next fiscal, a company official said here Monday.
“Our 47.6 MW Khirvire wind power project in Maharashtra and 412 MW Rampur hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh will be commissioned by March 2014,” SJVNL deputy general manager Vijay Verma told IANS.
He said the Khirvire project, the company’s maiden wind power project, is scheduled to be commissioned in August, while all six units of Rampur project will in operation between Dec 15 and March 5.
Verma said as per a memorandum of understanding signed between union Power Secretary P. Uma Shankar and SJVNL’s chief managing director R.P. Singh in New Delhi Monday, the company plans to generate 6,930 million units in 2013-14.
“We are aiming an expected revenue realization of Rs.1,783 crore and a net profit of Rs.790 crore from our operational 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydro power station by fixing a target generation of 6,875 million units,” he added.
With 10 hydropower projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh under execution, the SJVNL aims to tap 6,000 MW by 2020.
Its 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydropower project, the country largest hydropower project, is in Shimla district. It started generation in 2004-05.
The company’s total revenue jumped to Rs.2,136.79 crore in 2011-12 from Rs.1,979.16 crore the previous year and the net profit to Rs.1,068 crore from Rs.912 crore.
The company paid Rs.389 crore as dividend last year compared to Rs.334 crore the previous year.
