“Orders have been issued for taking up developmental works in 40 more colonies which have been regularised,” Lovely told the Delhi assembly.

Earlier in January, the government had ordered starting of development work in 91 other such colonies.

“In all, orders have been issued to take up developmental works in 131 colonies,” Lovely said.

The Congress government in Delhi had issued provisional regularisation certificates to over 1,600 illegal colonies in the city ahead of the state assembly polls in 2008.

However, the move hung fire till 2012 when Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit took up the matter with the central government and got the go-ahead to regularise 917 unauthorised colonies in September last year.
