Lucknow: Fire brand Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on Saturday. Bharti is a MLA from Charkhari seat in Mahoba of Uttar Pradesh.

Though exact agenda of the meeting is not known, it is reported that Bharti discussed various development projects in her assembly seat. The meeting lasted for nearly 45 minutes. It is also learnt that she discussed various projects for Bundelkhand region and Clean Ganga campaign.

This is the third visit of Uma Bharti since she was elected to UP assembly. BJP had pinned their hopes on Uma Bharti but she failed to click during assembly elections. Since then she is also avoiding UP making rare appearances.

However Uma Bharti forgot the hospitality of CM Akhilesh Yadav and during her interaction with media, she lashed out at the UP government. “Going by the actions of the state government, it is becoming a shelter place of terrorists. Terrorists will prefer UP than Pakistan in taking shelter. It is shameful that government is trying to save terrorists. We will wage a battle against the UP government and it will also be defeated like UPA,” she said.

The remarks of Uma Bharti were in reference to Tariq Qasmi and Khalid Mujahid who are in jail in connection with the 2007 Gorakhpur blast. State government’s plea for withdrawing their case was turned down by a local court in Barabanki on Friday.

She also demanded resignation of PM Manmohan Singh stating that PM showed childish behaviour by delaying things for three days which ulimately resulted in the resignation of two ministers. “There is no such thing like central government. SP and BSP are supporting it due to CBI. Mulayam Singh had admitted it before that CBI is misused. It is worse than emergency,” she stated.

Uma Bharti also warned Congress for not getting too happy over Karnataka victory. She also termed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi as a spent force. She admitted that the adverse results in Karnataka were due to the delay in taking decision regarding B S Yedurappa. She also admitted that in UP the ego of some leaders also matters when anyone is sidelined.
