Ankara : The Turkish government has sent out a warning in Ankara, Istanbul and the southern province of Hatay on a possible suicide attack from an Al Qaeda-linked group ahead of the Geneva-II peace talks on Syria, media reported Tuesday.
Intelligence authorities have informed that 20 militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were planning attacks to disrupt this week’s Geneva-II peace talks, Xinhua quoted Dogan News Agency as saying in a report.
The militants were particularly planning to target hotels and meeting rooms where members of the Syrian opposition and the Free Syrian Army were to stay, according to the report.
At least 10 people were killed and dozens others wounded Monday in two car explosions near a Turkish-Syrian border gate.
