Hyderabad riots: Firing victims buried, Governor orders compensation and inquiry, situation calm

Hyderabad: All the three victims of paramilitary firing in Kishanbagh riots have been buried Wednesday night amid high police security. Police handed over dead bodies to the relatives on the condition that deceased have to be buried immediately.

Dead bodies of Mohammed Shujauddin and Mohammed Fareed were brought from Osmania general hospital while body of Wajid Ali arrived from Gandhi hospital after postmortem. All of them resident of Arsh Mahal, Namaz-e-Janaza was performed at Jama Masjid of the locality. As whole locality was seized with police barricades outsiders were not allowed but local Muslims thronged in show of solidarity.

MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, City Mayor Majid Hussain and other MIM leaders also took part in the prayer meeting, and expressed their condolence to victim’s relatives.

Many injured who received bullet and stab wounds are currently going under treatment in different corporate hospitals in city, condition of at least four people are still critical.

Curfew continued to be in place in Rajendernagar police limits, no untoward incident was reported from any part of the city but police is not taking any chances by tighten up more security on the run up to election counting day i.e. on Friday.

Governor ESL Narshiman the de facto authority in the state due to president rule had a high level meeting along with Chief Secretary, Home secretary and higher police officers on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Narshiman appealed to all the section of the society to maintain peace and communal harmony to ease out existing tensions.
