Aligarh: Appreciating the efforts of the engineering students, Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt. General Zameer Uddin Shah said that the University authorities are encouraging creative mind. He said that most of the engineering innovations were done in the workshops. He mentioned the history of flying machine. General Shah suggested the name for this formula car as Black Buck.
The Vice Chancellor released the Annual Newsletter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAF-ZHCET) Student Chapter on Saturday. On this occasion, General Shah also launched a website www.saezhcet.com created by the students of this collegiate chapter.

In his welcome address, Arpit Upadhyay, Chairperson, SAE said that this society was established in 2012 with the collective efforts of a group of students who had a strong urge to complement the theoretical knowledge imparted in the classroom, with emphasis on the practical aspects of engineering.
He said that we are also in process of designing a Hybrid Formula Car for participating in formula Hybrid-2016 to be held in New Hamsphire, USA. He appreciated the role of AMU alumni worldwide for providing financial assistance.

Professor Mohibullah, Dean, Faculty of Engineering appreciated the efforts of this Society and said that these students also have been fabricating different vehicles like a Formula One car, All-terrain vehicles, an electric Hybrid vehicle for National events like SUPRA, BAJA, EFFICYCLE and bringing laurels to the college and university.
Mr. Kailash Pathak of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was the guest of honour. Mr. Pathak is an alumnus of this University and did his Engineering in 1985.
