Uttarakhand to launch ‘Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna’

Dehradun : Uttarakhand will soon launch a ‘Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna’ for development of villages, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said on Monday.

Rawat made the announcement after presiding over a meeting of officials and representatives of the World Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the state forest and horticulture departments.

Discussing issues concerning better implementation of the schemes in rural areas for increasing income of locals, the chief minister said under the new scheme, four villages of each block of four small districts, and two villages from remote hilly areas in every block would be marked.

These villages would be developed as employment generator villages.

The villages would also be linked with the other schemes, including infrastructure development, he said.
