New Delhi: A day after Indian security forces killed 8 youths and injured more than 17, students of Jamia Millia Islamia held a silent protest against the killings inside the campus.
Dozens of students from BA program held a silent sit-in in front of central canteen holding placards “Kashmiryat Insaniyat Jamhooriyat, We want peace, Kashmiri lives matter, Stop human rights violation in Kashmir” denouncing the killings in Kashmir.
“Everyone is silent on the issue of killings in Kashmir. Not many people speak on this issue that’s why we decided to organise this protest,” said Abdul Kabir, a student of BA Programme, JMI.
Another student, Ahsan said, “After yesterday’s killings our classmates decide to hold a protest. We decided to hold silent protest because slogan shouting has already lead to controversies in many universities.”
