Hindi-Maithili short film ‘The Suspect’, based on a Muslim youth who gets falsely implicated in terror cases, is now available for free for watching on YouTube. The movie, of which TwoCircles.net is one of the producers, was earlier available on YouTube for a price of Rs 25
The film has earned critical acclaim and has been screened in many places including Mumbai, Kolkata, Boston, New York and New Jersey.
‘The Suspect’ is a story of 26-year-old Abdul Rahim Ansari, who arrives in Mumbai from Darbhanga (Bihar) to work as Production Assistant trainee in one of the film Units of Mumbai.
In the movie, Sanjay, who also belongs to the same village as Abdul, has done well for himself in the film line and gets a job for Abdul. But as luck would have it, Mumbai comes under a terrorist attack on the very first day Abdul starts his job and out of the blue, every news channel is flashing Abdul as the main culprit.
The movie is directed by National film award winner Nitin Neera Chandra, and TwoCircles.net had jointly produced the film with Neo Bihar and Champaran Talkies.
Durgesh Kumar, an alumnus of the National School of Drama, has portrayed the role of Abdul Rahim Ansari in the film. Prior to this short film, Kumar had been a part of the feature films like Sultan, Freaky Ali, and Highway.
The film was shot in Maithil and English and portrays the difficulties a Muslim youth faces when he gets implicated as a suspect in a terror case, of which he was never a part.
