A state-level elocution competition was organised on January 7 and 8 on the life of Sirat-ul-Nabi (Life of Prophet Mohammed-Peace be upon Him) for high school students in Maharashtra.
The competition, organised by Abdul Wahid Moledina School in Pune, received a good response with nearly 150 students from Mumbai, Pune, Malegaon, Dhulia, Bhiwandi and Solapur etc participating with full zeal.
It is indeed notable that the said school is conducting this state-level event since last 47 years. The school was founded by Hashim Moledina in 1935. The participating boys and girls were divided into junior and senior group.
Parveez Nida, headmistress at the school, spoke with Twocirlces.net and said, “We have been conducting the state-level competition for the past few decades, mostly on religious topics. Our management only spends nearly two lakh every year on the prizes and hospitality of students, guest teachers and parents. We don’t charge any fees from the participants or collect donations.”
The aim of this competition is to help the students imbibe all the qualities of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and become a good human being, citizen and a Muslim, she informed. “I must thank our Chairman Riyaz Omar and ex-Chairman Mahmood Moledina for extending full support and staff member Shakil Khan, Atthurrahman Hannure and Rizwan Dalal for their efforts,” she added.
A.Gafur Sagri, a parent whose child participated in the competition, expressed gratitude to the entire team of organizing frame for conducting such a high profile event and said, “it is a very good opportunity for children to perform and prove their abilities.”
