Ludhiana: Thousands of members of all Muslim institutions in the city led by Shahi Imam Punjab Maulana Habib ur Rehman Sani Ludhianvi from the historic Jama Masjid of Ludhiana during Monday’s Bharat Bandh on behalf of the farmers, criticized the Modi government and took out a fury march.
In a march, people had taken up play-cards in protest against the Modi government and black flags were waved. The protesters were shouting slogans like Modi government, farmer Aikata Zindabad, Hindu-Muslim-Sikh-Christian Zindabad, hooliganism will not go away, take back the black law.
The fury march started in front of Jama Masjid and ended at Jagjon Bridge, Railway Station Road, Brown Road, Subhani Building, Shahpur Road at Field Ganj Chowk. Representatives of various religions were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the protesters, Maulana Habib ur Rehman Sani Ludhianvi, the national president of Majlis Ahrar Islam, a party of freedom fighters, said that farmers are the country’s pride.
Shahi Imam said that the central government is playing with the sentiments of every section of the country which is not right in a democracy.
Shahi Imam Maulana Habib ur Rehman said that we will not let anyone be robbed for the rights of our peasant brothers.
The Shahi Imam further said that it is regrettable to discredit the peasant movement. “The Modi government should make an agricultural law according to the farmers, except the capitalists,” he said.
He said that as long as the farmers are on the path of movement, the whole country will stand with them.
Naib Shahi Imam Maulana Muhammed Usman Ludhianvi also spoke on the occasion.
