Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been placed sixth among Indian universities and 22nd in all Indian educational institutions by the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR).
The news comes in addition to AMU’s eventful centenary year in 2020 when its academicians and their credentials are being recognized both at international and national levels in several fields.
“It is a moment of satisfaction for the whole AMU fraternity,” said AMU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor, while congratulating faculty members and students for securing the top ranks. He added that the ranking is a product of the collective and sustained efforts of teachers and students who continue to raise the status of the University at a global level.
Professor Salim Beg, Chairman of CWUR, while speaking about AMU’s academic ranking, informed that the ranking is judged based on different variables measuring academics, citations, international collaboration and publications.
VC Tariq Mansoor noted that it is a “remarkable success,” urging students to “keep striving hard for further improvements.”
