New Delhi : In the second road rage incident this week, a 38-year-old motorist was seriously injured after three people on a scooter, including a woman, beat him up following a minor collision in southwest Delhi's Dwarka area, police said Friday.
The incident took place in Dwarka at around 11.30 p.m. Thursday when Vijender Kumar, driving a Maruti Esteem car, was involved in a minor collision with a scooter. The three people on the scooter beat him with an iron rod.
Kumar was admitted to the Safdarjang hospital with severe head injuries. His condition is stated to be critical.
"Kumar applied emergency brakes when he neared the scooter, but could not avoid a minor touch. The scooter had a deflated tyre and the passengers were trying to take it to the side when the collision happened. No one was injured," an eyewitness said.
"They started abusing him and attacked him with a sharp iron rod on the head. When they saw Kumar bleeding, they ran way," he added.
Police said they were investigating the matter.
