Lucknow : Incessant rains lashed large parts of Uttar Pradesh Friday, with Lucknow receiving the highest rainfall.
“There will be no respite from heavy rains at least for 24 hours,” state meteorological director L.C. Ram told IANS. He credited the rains to a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal.
After passing from Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, the depression has come over Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
Rainfall in Lucknow was recorded at 90.6 mm followed by Rae Bareli (75.8 mm), Allahabad (49.9 mm) and Gorakhpur (10.7 mm).
