Islamabad : More than ten militants were killed Saturday in fresh clashes with security forces in the tribal agency of Bajaur, bordering Afghanistan.
Military gunship helicopters pounded suspected militant hideouts in several parts of the agency, security sources told KUNA.
They said a heavy exchange of fire also took place between security forces and militants in Loi Sam area.
The sources said that more than ten militants were killed in the latest clashes.
They also said more than 700 militants, including five local Taliban commanders, were killed in a month-long operation in the Bajaur tribal agency.
Nearly 90 militants, including foreigners, were also arrested during the operation.
