Pyongyang : The official Rodong Sinmun daily accused on Wednesday a U.S. bill of strengthening defence cooperation with South Korea, saying it escalated military tensions on the Korean Peninsular.
The “bill on closer U.S.-South Korea defense cooperation,” passed by the Congress in September, “betrays a sinister intention to round off the preparations for the second Korean war and reinforces the military alliance between the U.S. and South Korea,” the Rodong Sinmun said.
The newspaper urged the U.S. to drop its hostile policy against the DPRK so as to “promote a climate of bilateral confidence and detente” between the two countries.
The DPRK media have intensified a rhetoric war against the U.S. amid the suspended six-party talks aimed at ridding the DPRK of its nuclear programs.
On Sept. 25, the official KCNA news quoted a military source assaying that the U.S. has been fully prepared for a aggression war against the DPRK.
