Islamabad : A Pakistani political and religious leader Wednesday urged the west to give up double standards, saying in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistani tribal regions it supports the use of force, but in Palestine it stresses negotiations.
“Western powers, which advocated democratic ideals should respect sovereignty of Pakistan and follow one criteria,” Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir,” Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said.
“We support peaceful resolution of all disputes of the world including Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan, ” Fazal said while talking to French delegation including parliamentarians, French Ambassador and French diplomats based in Pakistan.
He said the Pakistani parliament last month passed a resolution condemning the U.S missiles strike by drones in the tribal region and now the U.S should respect the resolution.
He said the parliament, representing the whole nation reflected the wishes of the nation as well as culture and traditions of tribal areas to resolve problems through dialogue.
The leader of delegation informed the chairman that they were visiting India, Afghanistan and Pakistan to have a better understanding of the recent development in the region.
The leader of delegation observed that France also wanted that the issue should be resolved through peaceful means.
