Muscat : The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s 28th summit will be held in Doha, not Muscat, GCC Secretary General Abdul-Rahman Al-Attiyah said Monday.
Al-Shabiba paper Quoted Al-Attiyah as saying on Monday that Oman, and after coordinating with Qatar, requested that the summit would be held in Doha next September and that the 29th summit would be held in Muscat instead, stressing that Qatar welcomed hosting the summit.
He said the next summit will discuss the proposal of Sultan Qaboos of Oman on connecting water facilities between the Gulf states, emphasizing that the project will contribute in the development of the GCC region.
Al-Attiyah praised the role of Sultan Qaboos and his support of joint action in all fields.
