New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked the government to take the incident of radiation contamination at Kaiga nuclear plant more seriously.
“The government needs to take the matter more seriously,” BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said.
Referring to government statements that the contamination could be mischief by a disgruntled scientist, Swaraj said it was all the more dangerous.
“It is also the government’s job to see that there are no disgruntled scientists,” she said.
Around 55 employees of Kaiga had to be hospitalised after drinking water contaminated with radioactive Tritium (heavy water) Nov 24.
