New Delhi : Railways bundled Gujarat out for a paltry 91 in the first innings on the first day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match at Valsad Tuesday.
Hosts Gujarat had no answers to the pace battery of the Railways and were bowled out in 58.2 overs.
Sanjay Bangar (3-11), Santosh Saxena (3-19) and Shailender Gehlot (2-21) all chipped in with wickets after the Railways decided to field first.
At stumps, the Railways were 61 for one with Bangar batting on 31 and V.Cheluvaraj on 10.
At Pune, Praveen Kumar took six wickets as Uttar Pradesh bowled out Maharashtra for 292. R.P. Singh grabbed two wickets.
After registering a big win against Delhi in their last match, Uttar Pradesh once again took the day one honours against Maharashtra.
For Maharashtra, Ganesh Gaikwad (63) and Rohit Motwani (57) were the top scorers.
