Tiwari paternity row: Petitioner files documents

By IANS,

New Delhi: Rohit Shekhar, a lawyer claiming to be the biological son of former Andhra Pradesh governor N.D. Tiwari, Thursday said he has filed photographs, CDs and documents in the Delhi High court over the paternity suit filed by him.

Rohit said that he produced around 150 photographs showing him and Tiwari together since his childhood.

He said he also produced several letters written by his mother, grandfather and grandmother to Tiwari and the party regarding him.

His mother Ujjawala Sharma also filed an affidavit seeking a direction to Tiwari to remove objectionable parts from his reply in which he called her an unchaste woman.

Justice J.R. Midha May 20 had asked both the parties to submit documents related to the case before the joint registrar. The next hearing in the case is scheduled Friday.

The high court has already fixed July 30 for framing the issues in the suit.

The apex court had May 10 dismissed the appeal filed by Tiwari challenging high court’s decision to adjudicate the paternity suit.

Rohit claimed that he was born out of a relationship between his mother Ujjwala Sharma and Tiwari, a charge denied by the Congress leader.

Tiwari earlier refused to undergo DNA test on Rohit’s plea and denied ever having any physical relationship with his mother.

He had to resign as governor after he was purportedly shown in a sting operation to be in a compromising position with three women in the Hyderabad Raj Bhavan.

Earlier, the high court had dismissed the plea by Tiwari who sought dismissal of Rohit’s petition on the ground that it was filed 31 years after the petitioner was born in order to malign him.
